Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the healthcare system, including the organization of emergency medical care for children. This influence manifested itself not only during the period of active restrictions, but also in the delayed consequences that formed new challenges in the post-pandemic period. Objective: to analyze the work of the emergency room in the Astrakhan region after the COVID-19 pandemic using the example of State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Astrakhan Region “Children's City Polyclinic No. 1” in the period 2022– 2024. Materials and methods. A comprehensive study of quantitative and qualitative indicators of the activities of the emergency room for children has been conducted using mathematical, statistical analysis, primary accounting and accounting documents. Results. There was a sharp increase in the total number of referrals in 2024. From 2022 to 2023, the increase was minimal (1.95 %), but from 2023 to 2024, there was a jump of 36.81 % (from 3,754 to 5,136 cases). This indicates the emergence in 2024 of a factor that led to a significant increase in medical care. Conclusion. The organization of the work of the emergency medical room in the specified period after the pandemic in conditions of increased workload has demonstrated its effectiveness, consistency and great demand for accessibility, efficiency and timeliness of providing not only primary health care, but also emergency medical care.
