Abstract

Methods for covering wound surfaces during surgical treatment of various diseases necessitate the use of the patient's own tissues, synthetic constructs, and allogeneic donor material. Among the latter, the amniotic membrane is attracting increasing interest from researchers. However, preserving the structure and properties of the amnion requires the use of specific preservative media and temperature regimes. In this article, we provide an overview of several methods for preserving the amniotic membrane.

Abstract

The article discusses various regional anesthesia methods used in the complex non-surgical ileus treatment. The possibilities of the blockades impact on the ileus pathogenesis are highlighted. The conditions of application, possible side effects, and contraindications to the use of neuraxial blockades (spinal, epidural anesthesia, and   epidural analgesia) are analyzed. The possibilities of therapeutic effects on the sympathetic autonomic nervous system by blockades with local anesthetics are considered. The article describes underutilized methods of superior mesenteric artery desympathization, as well as potentially promising methods of paravertebral blockade and spinal erector muscle blockade

Abstract

In modern medicine and pharmacy, there is a steady tendency to search for natural compounds that can level oxidative stress a key factor in the pathogenesis of diseases of various etiologies. At the moment, special attention   is paid to the study of potentially new sources of antioxidants, including plant origin. Purpose of the study: evaluation of antioxidant activity potential of Lonicera xylosteum leaf extract. Materials and methods. The object of the study was an extract of wild honeysuckle leaves. The quantitative determination of biologically active substances was carried out according to the generally accepted spectrophotometric methods indicated in the State Pharmacopoeia: flavonoids in terms of catechin, hydroxycinnamic acids in terms of chlorogenic acid, tannins in terms of gallic acid. The antioxidant potential of common honeysuckle leaf extract was assessed using a “model biological system” as a suspension of chicken egg yolk lipoproteins, determining the level of products that react with thiobarbituric acid and lipid peroxidation rates. The control sample was taken without the test extract. The reference drug was Emoxipine. Results. Quantitative analysis of the biologically active substances of the leaves of Lonicera xylosteum showed the presence of flavonoids in terms of catechin 1.17 %, hydroxycinnamic acids in terms of chlorogenic acid 0.84 % and tannins in terms of gallic 4.16 %. Under the influence of the studied extract and reference preparation, there was a decrease in the level of thiobarbituric acid reactive products and the rate of lipid peroxidation in relation to the sample with induced fatty acid oxidation by 1.4 and 1.7 times (p <0.05), as well as 1.2 and 1.4 times (p <0.05), respectively. Conclusion. The obtained results showed that   the extract of Lonicera xylosteum leaves suppresses the induced lipid peroxidation, reducing the level of products reacting with thiobarbituric acid, while the antioxidant effect is comparable to the reference preparation, which is due to the presence of a large amount of biologically active substances in the leaves, which ensure stabilization of lipoperoxidation processes. The data obtained indicate the antioxidant effect of Lonicera xylosteum leaf extract, further comprehensive study of which may be of practical importance for the creation of new pharmaceutical substances.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the healthcare system, including the organization of emergency medical care for children. This influence manifested itself not only during the period of active restrictions, but also in the delayed consequences that formed new challenges in the post-pandemic period. Objective: to analyze the work of the emergency room in the Astrakhan region after the COVID-19 pandemic using the example of State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Astrakhan Region “Children's City Polyclinic No. 1” in the period 2022– 2024. Materials and methods. A comprehensive study of quantitative and qualitative indicators of the activities of the emergency room for children has been conducted using mathematical, statistical analysis, primary accounting and accounting documents. Results. There was a sharp increase in the total number of referrals in 2024. From 2022 to 2023, the increase was minimal (1.95 %), but from 2023 to 2024, there was a jump of 36.81 % (from 3,754 to 5,136 cases). This indicates the emergence in 2024 of a factor that led to a significant increase in medical care. Conclusion. The organization of the work of the emergency medical room in the specified period after the pandemic in conditions of increased workload has demonstrated its effectiveness, consistency and great demand for accessibility, efficiency and timeliness of providing not only primary health care, but also emergency medical care.

Abstract

In patients with acute coronary syndrome and coronavirus infection, clinical and instrumental data are of particular diagnostic and prognostic importance, which have not previously been studied in patients with coronary artery disease and coronavirus infection. The aim. To study demographic, anamnestic, clinical and instrumental data of patients with coronary heart disease and coronavirus infection upon admission to the hospital. Materials and methods. A retrospective continuous analysis of the electronic database of 125 patients (men) with coronary artery disease who were admitted for routine treatment at the Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery (Astrakhan) from May 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023 was carried out. Results. The study of demographic, anamnestic, clinical and instrumental data of patients with coronary heart disease and coronavirus infection upon admission to the hospital allowed us to identify a group of patients with coronary heart disease at high risk of coronavirus infection disease: males aged 65 to 70 years, with a history of myocardial infarction from 1 to 2 years old, with arterial hypertension, clinically – heart failure II functional class, instrumentally – three-vessel lesion of the coronary bed
